Breitengüßbach (dpa / lby) - A detour in Upper Franconia seems to magically attract wrong-way drivers.
The police reported three wrong-way drivers within five days on the Autobahn 73 near Breitengüßbach (Bamberg district).
"It is only thanks to fortunate circumstances that no serious traffic accidents have occurred in the previous wrong-way trips," emphasized the officials.
Although the diversion was signposted “clearly and clearly” because of a blocked federal road, the drivers had entered the motorway in the wrong direction. Most recently, an older man got on the wrong track on Monday. "An oncoming car had to avoid the wrong-way driver to prevent a collision," it said. By the time the police arrived, the driver had already left the highway according to the information.
