Lütjenburg (dpa / lno) - A fire destroyed several warehouses in Lütjenburg (Plön district) and thus caused property damage probably amounting to millions.

As the police reported on Monday, no people were injured in the fire on Sunday.

Accordingly, the fire broke out in the afternoon in one of the halls that served as a workshop and warehouse on a former barracks site.

The trigger may have been a 30-year-old working on a car.

The man had alerted the fire brigade, which could not prevent the flames from spreading to the other halls.

In the end, six warehouses and five vehicles were reportedly burning.

The property damage should amount to at least one million euros, it said.

The Plön criminal police are conducting further investigations to clarify the exact cause of the fire.
