Stuttgart (dpa) - Daimler is improving around 20,000 vehicles of its tuning brand Mercedes-AMG due to a programming error in connection with exhaust gas cleaning.
Because of the error, the regeneration of the gasoline particulate filter does not work as it should, as a spokesman confirmed on Tuesday.
As a result, the vehicle could consume slightly more fuel and emit more carbon dioxide than intended and certified.

According to Daimler, four series are affected.
Most of the vehicles are in the hands of customers, who should be contacted shortly so that the fault can be rectified in the workshop.
All other cars that are still at dealerships, for example, should only be delivered after an update.
New vehicles from ongoing production are not affected.
