Dresden (dpa / sn) - With the weakening corona pandemic, the lack of space in the crematoria of some cities at the beginning of the year has eased again.

But because so many people have died in the past few weeks as a result of the pandemic, there are now many burials in some cemeteries, as a survey by the German Press Agency of some Saxon municipalities showed.

Often, however, relatives hesitated with the funeral in order to be able to say goodbye to their deceased later in a larger circle.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, Saxony has 1,220 church and 500 communal cemeteries and nine burial forests.
