Potsdam (dpa / bb) - One day after the cabinet decision on the hard lockdown in Brandenburg, the state parliament decides on more participation in new rules against the corona virus.
The MPs are voting today on a motion from the coalition factions of the SPD, CDU and Greens as well as the opposition Free Voters, according to which the state parliament can also stop a new corona ordinance.
The state government is to be obliged to inform the state parliament's health committee before an ordinance is issued.
According to SPD parliamentary group leader Erik Stohn, this can also increase the acceptance of the corona measures among the population.
Parliamentarians also want to decide to suspend the automatic increase in their diets.
The motion of the three coalition factions states: "The MPs (...) feel obliged to show solidarity with the people in the country who are struggling with the economic consequences of the corona pandemic."
In February the state parliament decided that the state parliament members would automatically receive more money every year until 2024.
The basic amount increases automatically according to the percentage income development.
After that, the compensation for 2021 would have increased by 3.4 percent.
