In conjunction with "Mt. Fuji Day" on February 23, in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, citizen groups and others carried out cleanup activities on the coast at the foot of Mt. Fuji.

At the starting point of the mountain climbing route from zero meters above sea level to the summit of Mt. Fuji, on the Suzukawa coast of Fuji City, more than 100 people gathered at the request of a citizen group to clean up the area around Mt. Fuji on the day of Mt. Fuji.

Participants picked up garbage bags and picked up PET bottles, empty cans, and pieces of household appliances that had been washed up on the beach one after another.

In about two hours, about 150 bags of garbage were collected and loaded onto a truck.

Mr. Tasuke Sano, who lives in Fuji City, said, "I wanted to leave a beautiful city of Fuji for future children on Mt. Fuji day, so I participated. I hope I can see Mt. Fuji and clean my heart." I did.

Mayumi Ota, the organizer of the citizen group, said, "I hope it will be a city that is as good as Mt. Fuji, which is the cleanest in Japan."
