On December 29, 2019, Carlos Ghosn left Tokyo to escape Japan, more than a year after his arrest and while he was out on bail.
After a correspondence in Istanbul, he arrives the next day in Lebanon.
A sprawling affair far from having stopped on December 31, 2019 when Japan and the world discover his incredible escape.

Since his flight from Japan, Carlos Ghosn has not left Lebanon, which does not extradite its nationals.
Affected by a request for arrest via Interpol, the former boss of the Renault-Nissan alliance has since been stranded in the country of the cedar.
In the absence of Carlos Ghosn, the former legal manager of Nissan therefore began to be tried in criminal proceedings in mid-September in Tokyo.

is accused of having failed to mention in the stock reports of the Japanese manufacturer a remuneration that Carlos Ghosn was supposed to receive later.
Trials in Turkey and arrests in the United States
Another trial began in July in Turkey to try seven members of the company that owned the jet hired for its exfiltration.
Two alleged accomplices
in his flight were arrested in the United States in May before a new appeal against their extradition to Tokyo.
Meanwhile, a UN task force concluded that the process for the arrest and detention of the ex-auto tycoon was unfair.
Carlos Ghosn has not finished with justice either since Nissan claims 80 million euros in damages in a civil lawsuit in Japan.
Eye for an eye, tooth for tooth, Carlos Ghosn is claiming millions in compensation from Nissan and Mitsubishi through a procedure in the Netherlands.
He also entered into a similar dispute with Renault
In France, Carlos Ghosn is also concerned by investigations relating in particular to suspicions of abuse of corporate assets at Renault.
