The successive local two sessions also announced the residents' income and consumption targets of various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in 2021, which aroused widespread concern.

  More balanced between regions

  In the past year, the income and consumption expenditures of Chinese residents have grown steadily, which has not come easily under the background of the epidemic.

  According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2020, the national per capita disposable income of residents was 32,189 yuan, a nominal increase of 4.7%, and an actual increase of 2.1% after deducting price factors, basically in line with economic growth.

Residents' consumption expenditure has steadily recovered, and the rate of decline has narrowed quarter by quarter. In 2020, the national per capita consumption expenditure of residents will reach 21,210 yuan.

  In terms of regions, the top 9 eastern provinces in terms of income, including Shanghai, Beijing, and Zhejiang, will exceed the national level in 2020.

At the same time, 8 of the top 10 provinces in per capita consumption expenditure are eastern provinces.

  In terms of absolute levels, the income and consumption levels of residents in the eastern region are still in the forefront.

Looking at the growth rate, the performance of the central and western regions is even more eye-catching.

  Generally speaking, the gap between the income and consumption expenditure of residents in the eastern and central and western regions is shrinking rapidly, and the income and consumption expenditure levels of residents in various regions are more balanced.

In 2020, the year-on-year growth rate of per capita disposable income of residents ranks among the top 10, the top 10 are all central and western provinces, and the top 3 Tibet, Sichuan, and Guizhou are all western provinces.

Looking at the growth rate of consumption, a total of 11 provinces will achieve nominal growth in per capita consumption expenditure in 2020. Nine of the top 10 growth rates are central and western provinces. Yunnan, Chongqing, and Qinghai are all western provinces.

  The gap between urban and rural areas is narrowing

In recent years, he has obtained a stable source of income by growing sweet corn and selling it to local deep processing companies.

Benefiting from the preferential tax policy for farmers, Changshan's sales of its own corn are exempt from VAT.

"Tax reduction and fee reduction have increased the income on hand, order farming has ensured the sales of agricultural products, and everyone is very enthusiastic about planting!" Chang Shan said.

  In 2020, China's grain production has won the "Seventeen Harvests", which has greatly boosted the income of rural residents.

Data show that in 2020, the per capita disposable income of rural residents is 17,131 yuan, a nominal increase of 6.9%, and a real increase of 3.8%; the per capita disposable income of urban residents is 43,834 yuan, a nominal increase of 3.5%, and a real increase of 1.2%.

  While the income of rural residents is increasing, they are also accelerating "buying."

Data show that in 2020, the per capita consumption expenditure of rural residents in China is 13,713 yuan, a nominal increase of 2.9%; the per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents is 27,007 yuan, a nominal decrease of 3.8%.

The consumption growth of rural residents was faster than that of urban residents, and the nominal and actual growth rates were 6.7 and 5.9 percentage points faster than that of urban residents, respectively.

  The rebound is well supported

  In terms of operating income, in 2020, with the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, the business activities of Chinese residents will gradually improve. The national per capita net operating income of residents reached 5,307 yuan, and the growth rate has changed from a 2.0% decline in the first three quarters to an increase of 1.1%. The growth rate of per capita net operating income has turned positive.

  In terms of wage income, in 2020, various localities will take various measures to ensure the employment of residents and the main body of the market. The employment situation across the country is generally stable. The unemployment rate in the survey has gradually fallen, driving the national per capita wage income to increase by 4.3% to 17,917 yuan.

  In terms of transfer income, in 2020, urban and rural residents’ basic pension standards will be improved, coverage will be expanded, minimum living standards will be continuously improved, local governments will increase assistance and subsidies for people in need, and play the role of a “stabilizer” that supports the growth of residents’ income.
