The French Quentin Fillon-Maillet took 2nd place on Sunday in the mass start of Anterselva (Italy), counting for the Biathlon World Cup and won by the Norwegian Johannes Boe, leader of the general classification.

Fillon-Maillet (28 years old), who climbed the podium for the 4th time this season (1 success) and the 2nd in a row after the Individual Friday (3rd), was the only one to resist somehow the hellish pace imposed on the track by Boe and finally fails 31.3 seconds behind the Norwegian with an 18/20 shooting.

After a complicated start to winter, he is completely reassured in view of the Pokljuka Worlds (February 10-21).

The double holding the big crystal globe made a huge effort halfway through the race to blow up the leading group.

Fillon-Maillet was able to withstand ten seconds behind until the last passage on the shooting range but the Frenchman made a mistake which prevented him from picking up at Boe.

The Norwegian, winner for the 52nd time on the circuit and the 4th of the season, consolidates his first position in the general classification of the World Cup.

Slovenian Jakov Fak finished 3rd.
