Porto (AP) - The Italian soccer record champion Juventus Turin with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is threatened with the last 16 in the Champions League, as in the previous year.

The team of coach Andrea Pirlo lost 1: 2 (0: 1) at FC Porto on Wednesday and is therefore under pressure in the second leg on March 9th.

After all, Federico Chiesa saved the Serie A club from an even worse starting position with his late goal (82nd).

Juve had already failed in the first knockout round against Olympique Lyon last season.

The game at the Estádio do Dragão started badly for the Italians.

After a minute, Rodrigo Betancur played a too short back pass to Juve keeper Wojciech Szczęsny.

Porto's Mehdi Taremi straddled in between and took the lead.

The guests also made a false start in the second half.

This time it wasn't even 30 seconds before Moussa Marega scored the second goal for Porto.

There was hardly anything to be seen of the Turiners, and Ronaldo hardly appeared in his Portuguese homeland.

In the first 45 minutes, Porto's goalkeeper Agustín Marchesín was checked only once in a shot by Adrien Rabot (41.).

In the second half there were hardly any chances until Chiesa scored.
