Zuzenhausen (AP) - For midfielder Dennis Geiger from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, the season ended prematurely.

In the past few days, problems arose again with the violinist, who had been suffering from a muscle injury for a long time, said the Bundesliga club on Tuesday evening.

That's why Geiger is now to be operated on.

The 22-year-old suffered a muscle-tendon injury in his thigh at the end of December when he was warming up before the cup game against Fürth.

Left-back Konstantinos Stafylidis is also not available to coach Sebastian Hoeneß's team.

The 27-year-old Greek, who recently returned to team training after a serious shoulder injury, was injured again in a session last Saturday.

Stafylidis suffered a fracture in the head of the tibia, which means that he will not be available for several weeks.
