This Thursday, in a judgment, the Aix-en-Provence Court of Appeal condemned on appeal the insurer Axa to compensate a restaurateur in the Old Port of Marseille for the losses caused following the coronavirus epidemic.

This restaurateur was indeed claiming compensation to compensate for the economic consequences of the first confinement on his activity.

In a press release, the prosecution specifies that Axa had already been ordered at first instance to compensate this restaurateur.

“Adding to the referred decision, the court also ordered the insurer AXA to compensate the restaurant owner for operating losses suffered during subsequent periods of closure, to pay the insured a provision to be used against this compensation and to put in carries out the expertise procedure provided for in the contract, ”writes the prosecution.

This Thursday, the Evry commercial court also ordered Axa to compensate a manager of six restaurants in Essonne for his operating losses linked to the Covid-19 epidemic.
