Dresden (dpa / sn) - The Saxon security authorities want to focus more on the "lateral thinking" movement of Corona critics in view of growing radicalization.

This was announced by Interior Minister Roland Wöller (CDU) and State Police President Horst Kretzschmar on Thursday after a special meeting of the Interior Committee in the state parliament on the corona protests last Saturday in Dresden.

Wöller also did not rule out future observation by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

This affects both individuals with extremist tendencies and groups.

State Police President Kretzschmar sees the danger that the overlap between the asylum and xenophobic Pegida movement and the “lateral thinkers” will grow bigger and bigger.

For them it is a matter of fundamentally protesting against the existing form of government and of rebelling against government decisions.

"Freedom of assembly also has a lot to do with articulating peacefully and without weapons."

He misses that in individual cases when it comes to “lateral thinking”.

Despite a forbidden “lateral thinking” demonstration, protests of more than 1,000 people broke out in Dresden last Saturday, in which twelve police officers were injured.
