“Australia had a limited bilateral defense cooperation program with the Myanmar military, limited to areas such as English language training.
This program will be suspended, ”said Australian Foreign Minister Maryse Payne in a statement.
She noted that the Australian government expresses grave concern "over the military coup in Myanmar, escalating violence and rising death tolls."
Earlier, the United States imposed trade sanctions against the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Myanmar.
