Hanover (dpa / lni) - The temporary suspension of corona vaccinations with the Astrazeneca preparation is slowing down the vaccination campaign in Lower Saxony.

"The vaccination ban will unfortunately affect the progress of the vaccinations in Lower Saxony," said the Ministry of Health in Hanover on Monday.

The concrete consequences of this for the allocation of appointments or the handling of stocks will now be analyzed and evaluated.

The Ministry has not yet been able to say to what extent appointments that have already been booked may have to be canceled.

So far, 295,200 Astrazeneca vaccination doses have been delivered to Lower Saxony.

134,549 doses have already been administered.

The number of weekly corona vaccinations in Lower Saxony was recently around 140,000, but the majority of vaccines from Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna have been used so far.
