Schwerin (dpa / mv) - According to the AOK, educators in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have the highest risk of corona infection among all professional groups - even before doctors and nurses.

From March to December 2020, around two percent of the educators insured with the AOK in MV reported sick with this diagnosis, as the health insurance company announced on Wednesday.

This value is more than twice as high as the average value of all AOK-insured employees in the north-east, according to the evaluation of the certificates of incapacity for work for the past year.

This was 839 sick leave per 100,000 insured persons, for the educators it was 2001. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, according to the information, around one in four is insured with the AOK.

According to the AOK analysis, educators nationwide also bear the highest risk of infection of all professional groups.

It was therefore the right decision to prefer them in the vaccination sequence, said the chairwoman of the board of AOK Nordost, Daniela Teichert.
