An explosion at a waste battery treatment plant in Ningxiang, Hunan has killed 1 person and 20 injured

  China News Service, Changsha, January 8 (Liu Man) At about 18:12 on January 7, the workshop of Hunan Bangpu Cycle Technology Co., Ltd. in Jinzhou Town, Ningxiang City, Changsha City, Hunan Province exploded and caught fire.

From the live video provided by many local people in Ningxiang, it can be seen that a huge mushroom cloud rose up at the scene after the explosion, and the fire was soaring, which was visible several kilometers away.

  After the accident, the main persons in charge of the Ningxiang Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Government, and the Ningxiang High-tech Zone Management Committee rushed to the scene for disposal. The Ningxiang City Fire Brigade dispatched multiple fire engines to fight the fire.

  The reporter learned from Ningxiang officials at noon on the 8th that after the rescuers had cleaned up the scene and checked, it was found that the explosion accident caused 1 death, 6 serious injuries, and 14 minor injuries. All the wounded have been sent to hospital for treatment. Life is dangerous.

Monitoring by the ecological environment department showed that the ambient air quality around the accident plant was normal.

  Hunan Bangpu Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2008. It is currently the largest national high-tech enterprise in the country for the recycling and processing of waste lithium batteries and the production of high-end battery materials.
