Air New Zealand will test a digital transport passport.
It will allow airlines and border authorities to access information related to Covid-19, the airline said on Monday.
This program, dubbed the "vaccination passport" by specialists in the sector, aims to simplify travel by allowing passengers to keep all their medical data on a single medium.
“It's mostly like having a digital health certificate that can be easily and securely shared with airlines,” said Jennifer Sepull, director of digital services at Air New Zealand.
Guarantee of authenticity
This system will be based on an application.
This will be developed by the International Air Transport Association (Iata) which will soon be tested by the Gulf airlines, Emirates and Etihad.
The program would guarantee in particular the authenticity of the screening test or the vaccination certificate against Covid-19.
Air New Zealand intends to start testing its “vaccination passport” system in April.
