Oberstdorf (dpa) - The Swedish cross-country skier Frida Karlsson was taken to hospital in Oberstdorf after her bronze medal in the World Cup.

The world federation FIS informed about this on Saturday after the race over 30 kilometers in the classic technique.

Karlsson fell in the fourth of five laps when the chasers fell and was then only able to continue the race with pain.

According to the Fis, she has pain in her arm and can hardly move it.

The 21-year-old Swede was also absent from the honoring of the winners in the finish area with world champion Therese Johaug and silver winner Heidi Weng (both from Norway).
