The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has completed, through the infrastructure and municipality assets sector, a project to modernize and develop the lighting network at the entrances and exits of the Bridges Complex in Abu Dhabi, and the entrances and exits of the Wahat Al Karama area, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, by rehabilitating the old lighting network and replacing the traditional lamps with energy-saving ones. LED type.

The municipality affirmed that the project is part of the continuous development plans aimed at raising the efficiency of lighting, achieving sustainability standards through energy conservation, rationalizing electricity consumption by adopting the best international practices, and using modern technologies in the field of lighting, while at the same time providing environmentally friendly lighting.

The municipality stated that the modernization and rehabilitation of lighting contributes to improving the level of lighting, adding aesthetic character to the area, increasing the life span and operational life of the lighting network, and reducing electricity consumption and carbon emissions by 68%, by using modern lighting technologies (LED).

The project also included carrying out preventive maintenance of the lighting network (cables, flexible wires and electrical circuit breakers), rehabilitating it, maintaining the electrical distribution boxes for the decorative lighting network, and replacing the traditional lamps for decorative lighting (spherical shape) with modern energy-saving LED lights.

The municipality indicated that it will continue, within its future plans, to develop and improve lighting using the latest technologies that contribute to raising the quality of lighting, rationalizing electricity consumption and reducing carbon emissions, which contributes to a sustainable environment, adds aesthetic character to Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, and consolidates the civilized image of the emirate.
