On Friday a Las Vegas bus headed for the Grand Canyon overturned in northwestern Arizona, killing one person and seriously injuring two others, authorities said. According to a fire brigade officer, as reported by LaPresse, passengers reported that the driver was going too fast and lost control on the road. No other vehicles were involved. "The vehicle is badly damaged, it slipped along the road, there was a lot of debris," said Tim Bonney, head of the Lake Mohave Ranchos fire department, who responded to the distress call. "None of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle but they were all in shock." There were 48 people on the bus, including the driver, authorities said. After the incident, 44 people were sent to Kingman Regional Medical Center, of whom two were transported by medical helicopter, spokeswoman Teri Williams said. All the others were treated for minor injuries. The bus was heading towards Grand Canyon West, about 2.5 hours from Las Vegas and outside the national park boundaries.
