Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The number of reported new corona infections and deaths in connection with Covid disease remain high in Brandenburg.
The Ministry of Health reported 826 new infections and 69 deaths within one day on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the number of deaths related to Covid disease reached 83, a high since the pandemic began.
From the Potsdam-Mittelmark district alone, 143 new confirmed infections with the corona virus were reported.
According to the ministry's data, the district also has the highest level of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days with a value of 362.9, followed by the Spree-Neisse district with 373.7 and the Elbe-Elster district (315.2) .
For Brandenburg the average was almost 225 after almost 230 on Tuesday.
A total of 62,754 people have been infected with the corona virus since March.
1022 patients are treated in the hospital;
227 are under intensive care, 164 of them require ventilation.
The number of people currently ill is 15,780 - a decrease of 738. In Brandenburg, 44,995 people are considered to have recovered - 1,495 more than the day before.
