6 killed in an Israeli bombing of Damascus

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that six non-Syrian nationalities were killed as a result of the Israeli missile strikes on areas around the Syrian capital, Damascus, early Monday morning.

The London-based observatory said in a press statement today that the Israeli bombing resulted in the destruction of weapons and missile depots belonging to the Iranians in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus.

According to the Observatory, the 1st Division of the Syrian army and its environs were also targeted in the Kiswah area, in addition to targeting other locations west and southwest of the capital Damascus, indicating that the Israeli shelling continued for about half an hour.

The Observatory pointed out that the Syrian air defenses confronted a number of missiles, but some of them reached their targets.

The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted a military source as saying that at exactly 1:18 a.m. today, Israel carried out an aggression with rocket barrages from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan and the direction of Galilee targeting some targets in the vicinity of Damascus.

The source confirmed that the Syrian air defense media confronted the aggression missiles and dropped most of them.

The Israeli bombing today on Syria is the fifth this year, as areas in the countryside of Damascus were attacked on the third of February this year, and sites in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor were subjected to Israeli bombardment and in the Hama governorate in central Syria.
