Supported by a 78% increase in the last quarter

21% growth in aviation traffic for "Dubai South" during 2020

Tahnoun Seif: "This exceptional performance is due to several reasons, including the position Dubai enjoys and a favorite destination for tourists."

The "Dubai South" region announced that the aviation movement of the Mohammed bin Rashid aviation project in the region continued to grow during the past year by 21%, compared to 2019, as this was driven by the increase in the level of traffic during the last quarter of 2020.

A statement issued yesterday indicated that the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project recorded in the fourth quarter of last year a growth of 78% in private aviation traffic, compared to the same period in 2019, due to the ideal government measures to combat the spread of the "Covid-19" pandemic.

The growth is also attributed to the campaign "The Most Beautiful Winter in the World", with which Dubai has become a favorite destination for tourists who flock to the country during this period of the year.

"We are pleased to record this significant increase in private aviation traffic in the aviation building of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project for the second consecutive quarter," said the executive director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation Project, Tahnoon Saif.

And he indicated that «this exceptional performance is due to several reasons, most notably the exceptional position enjoyed by the emirate of Dubai and a favorite destination for tourists, while strengthening it with the launch of the campaign (The Most Beautiful Winter in the World), as well as the classification of the UAE on the list of the best countries in the world in dealing efficiently with the Coronavirus. ) ».

He added, "Thanks to the services provided by the private aviation building, passengers can spend a minimum of time in the building, while providing medical teams and facilities to conduct a BCR test to accommodate the increasing number of passengers." Three operators are required to implement strict sterilization standards, to protect the safety of passengers and staff.

It is noteworthy that the Mohammed bin Rashid Aviation project provides international companies with investment opportunities in the aviation field, as it is a free zone for private airlines and industries related to the aviation sector.

The project is located within "Dubai South", which was developed to be a center for various types of maintenance, and a destination for training and education.

The project seeks to enhance engineering industries, to achieve the emirate's vision of making it a leading center for the aviation sector.
