The police are searching for additional seizure of SK Innovation, which is suspected of leaking a competitor's electric vehicle battery technology today (25th).

According to the police, the security department of the Seoul Police Agency sent an investigator to the SK Building in Seorin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul this morning to conduct a seizure and search.

In May 2019, the police received a complaint from LG Chem stating that SK Innovation had stolen its trade secrets in the process of manpower outflow and initiated an investigation.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's International Crime Investigation Unit, who was in charge of the investigation at the time, sent investigators to the headquarters of SK Innovation and Seosan Plant in Jongno-gu, Seoul twice in September 2019 to seize and search data related to technology leakage.

A police official said, "Following the previous forced investigation, we are conducting seizure and search to secure additional evidence."

SK Innovation filed a lawsuit against LG Energy Solutions (formerly LG Chem's battery business unit) infringing the trade secret of electric vehicle batteries to the US International Trade Commission (ITC), and ITC recently raised the hand of LG.
