<Anchor> It is a

friendly economic time.

Reporter Kim Hye-min is here.

Reporter Kim, this year's big companies are really seldom hiring new people.

<Reporter>

There are many young people who graduated in February of this year but have not yet gotten a job.

New recruitment has just started in the first half of this year, and the Korea Economic Research Institute asked the top-ranked companies in sales through a public opinion poll on how they plan to hire new ones in the first half of this year.

However, six out of ten said they would not hire new employees or have no plans in the first half.

These responses have increased by 20% compared to last March.

We also asked why they weren't hiring, but more than half of them said it was because of the sluggish economy and industry economy at home and abroad.

Many respondents said it was because of the rigidity of employment, that is, it was difficult to fire them, or that it was difficult to obtain the right talent for the required job.

Despite the aftermath of Corona 19 and the economy is showing signs of a little recovery, the job market for our youth is still frozen.

Reporter Kim, but this is from last year.

Companies are reducing new hiring, but instead they are hiring from time to time.

I wonder if the young people are a little more difficult because of this.

In the meantime, how many companies hired in the first and second half of the year and how they were hired was decided to some extent.

So, according to this, job-prepared students have prepared resumes and interviews, but now it is a trend of frequent hiring, where only the necessary personnel are announced and selected when necessary without a specific period of time.

76.4% of conglomerates said they would use occasional hiring, but this was about 10% higher than last year.

There were 4 out of 10 companies that only wanted to hire people from time to time.

On the other hand, only 23% of companies were willing to hire only publicly.

Already, Hyundai Motor Company and LG have abolished regular bonds and are always hiring throughout the year.

SK also plans to hire 100% from next year.

When asking companies about the recent trends in the job market, they cited the increase in the proportion of occasional hiring the most.

In addition, there were many companies that reinforced hiring careers rather than new recruits.

There were quite a few places that were non-face-to-face and hiring artificial intelligence due to Corona 19.

It seems that the job difficulties for young people are getting more and more difficult.

Still, job-prepared students prefer large companies.

Is there any reason?

<Reporter>

This is because the gap between large corporations and SMEs became more pronounced when the economic crisis such as Corona 19 hit.

When we looked at workers who took temporary leave last year, there were far more small and medium-sized employees than large companies.

Last year, the number of temporary leave for SMEs due to sluggish business or operation suspension was 360,000, and only about 11,100 people were large corporations with more than 300 employees.

There is a difference of 32 times between small and medium-sized enterprises and large enterprises.

Of course, there are advantages of small and medium-sized enterprises, but since they are more easily driven to employment insecurity during the economic crisis, once they get a job, they tend to prefer stable large companies or public corporations.

I think that being stable in a crisis situation could be a big advantage for a large company, but not only the stability of such employment but also the wage issue has some effect?

<Reporter>

Since 2019 is the most recent data released by the National Statistical Office, compared with this, the average monthly pre-tax income of workers receiving salaries at large companies is 5.15 million won.

On the other hand, SMEs are more than doubled at 2.45 million won.

This gap is most widespread, especially in the 50s.

When employees in their 50s at large corporations receive an average of 6.67 million won a month, those in their 50s at small and medium-sized enterprises earned only 2.64 million won.

It was 2.5 times wider.

In addition, SME workers had the highest monthly average income in their 40s, and even if they received the most, it was less than the average monthly salary of workers in their 20s who attend large corporations.

The government recently increased recruitment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and supports what is called'special employment promotion incentives'.

It is to give the company 1 million won per month of labor cost for 6 months. It is unlikely that there will be many young people who are employed by small and medium-sized enterprises to get this much more salary without any vision.

It is time for a long-term perspective and measures.
