MEP Yannick Jadot stressed on Friday the need for "collective intelligence" rather than "the claim of one" in the management of the health crisis, the day after Emmanuel Macron's remarks criticizing "66 million prosecutors" in France.
Criticizing a "very lonely crisis management method", Yannick Jadot called on France 2 to bring together "around the scientific council the major local elected officials, employers, unions, political forces" and "to share information": "rather than the pretension of one, we need collective intelligence", he pleaded.
In an allusion to the many criticisms of this management by the government, the Head of State regretted Thursday the "incessant hunt for error" in France, which he said has become "a nation of 66 million prosecutors", remarks which aroused strong reactions in the ranks of the opposition, from the left to the far right.
"The situation is extremely difficult, the French are making a lot of efforts, there is a lot of depression, anguish, extremely heavy social stalling situations, and the president berates the French: it is not up to its responsibility, "lamented Mr. Jadot.
"This president has a problem with democracy, quite simply", echoed the national secretary of EELV Julien Bayou on franceinfo, criticizing his "arrogance": "this is not how we face crises: we faces with empathy, consultation, seriousness ".
"It is obvious that you and I must be able to have an opinion on the strategy, on the shortages of doses (of vaccine), on the various back and forth on the masks", defended Mr. Bayou, and "that does not it is not to be a prosecutor to say + give us the means to be able to project ourselves + ".
Julien Bayou called for greater "consultation with local elected officials" and "the immediate publication of the opinions of the scientific report" on which the decisions taken by the government are based.
