Bahamas. One of the most exclusive places in the world is home to FTX's headquarters. Here, mid-twenties move billions through one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world. But a storm is brewing, the effects of which are being felt as far away as Germany and throughout the crypto industry.

Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX, is allegedly responsible. He is no longer in the Bahamas, but in a prison in New York. The accusation: fraud. He is said to have embezzled the money of over eight million customers and thus secretly speculated.

Stanford. The campus of the elite university on the west coast of the USA is also home to Sam Bankman-Fried's childhood home. The style and contacts of this elite may have helped Sam to convince so many people of himself. So much so that they believed his vision and poured hundreds of millions of dollars into his company.
