Hefei, September 9 (Reporter Zhang Qiang) On September 29, the 9th Global Intelligent Vehicle Industry Conference (GIV28) jointly organized by the China Electric Vehicle 2023 People Association and the Hefei Municipal People's Government was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. At the meeting, experts, scholars, and business leaders sat together to study the new stage of intelligent vehicle industrialization.

Zhang Yongwei, vice president and secretary general of the China Electric Vehicle 100 Association, believes that the development of intelligent vehicles is not only a strategic choice, but also the need for industrial development and social development, and intelligence determines the victory or defeat of the competition in the second half of the automobile revolution.

Zhang Yongwei said that China's intelligent automobile industry has three supporting forces: electrification, information communication, big data, big models and artificial intelligence. It is necessary to accelerate the clarification of the technical route for the development of intelligent vehicles; The whole chain plans to build an automotive intelligent supply chain; There must be a clear automotive chip development strategy; Accelerate strategic layout in the field of automotive software; It is necessary to support cross-border forces to fully participate in the process of automotive intelligence; Strengthen top-level design and organizational coordination, and formulate new plans for the development of intelligent vehicles; Build a policy system for the development of intelligent vehicles; Based on intelligent development, accelerate the improvement of the legal system.

Zhang Yaqin, a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chair professor and dean of the Intelligent Industry Research Institute of Tsinghua University, said when talking about the future development direction of generative AI big models, there are currently about 200 large models in the world, of which more than 190 may be eliminated. For the market reshuffle of large models, it is up to market competition to decide.

Wu Qiang, founder and CEO of Houma Intelligence, said that the intelligent automotive industry is developing in the direction of smarter and higher performance, which requires stronger and better chips, and in order to make automotive intelligence better popularized and sustainable, it is also necessary to improve the cost performance, so chip companies should provide high-performance chips that everyone can afford. Through technological innovation to solve some essential problems in the process of chip computing efficiency improvement, this method is more suitable for Chinese chip companies.

Wang Xiaoming, director of the Industrial Science and Technology Innovation Research Department of the Institute of Science and Technology Strategy Consulting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the technology of intelligent networked vehicles is still in the exploration period, the technical route is not clear enough, and the intelligent networked vehicle industry chain is also longer, there are more participants, and the industrial chain is more complex than new energy vehicles. In general, to promote the development of intelligent networked vehicles in the new era, it is difficult for the government and industry to directly apply the model and experience of new energy vehicles, relying more on the power of the industry and market, not only the power of policy.

Wang Xiaoming believes that intelligent networked vehicles rely more on the model of scientific and technological innovation-driven development, and under such a development trend, it is very critical to build an industrial cooperation ecology. At the national level, the construction of cooperation platforms should also be strengthened, and laws, regulations and standards should be improved; Enterprises should actively explore the business model of smart vehicles and build an industrial ecology; Investment institutions should pay attention to scientific and technological innovation and model innovation to avoid ineffective investment, and reasonable business models are more important than government subsidies.

Liu Tong, global vice president and general manager of NVIDIA's China Automotive Business Unit, introduced that future chips will be fused, not only for intelligent driving, but also for intelligent assistants. In the past, intelligent driving chips were responsible for driving, and in-car assistant chips handled complex AI tasks. In the future, artificial intelligence will converge, and intelligent driving and intelligent cockpit tasks will influence each other and even use each other. (End)
