Every day, Europe 1 looks at an everyday idea or problem. According to a recent Meilleurtaux.com website, the price of mutuals has increased by 5% compared to 2022. The rates of enhanced guarantees are very high and more and more retirees are therefore renouncing to subscribe to them.According to a study by the Meilleurtaux.com website, the price of mutuals has particularly increased for seniors because of inflation. From now on, a sixty-year-old couple will have to pay more than 250 euros per month in order to obtain enhanced warranty coverage. The increase amounts to +5% compared to 2022 with marked differences between regions. Thus, the mutual is more expensive in Île-de-France, in the PACA region or in Gironde. Europe 1 went to meet Bordeaux pensioners affected by the increase in the price of mutuals.

"Nibble on health"
The latter note an increase in the rates of their mutual. In order to maintain a reasonable level of contribution, some abandon the guarantees of the maximum coverage of the mutual. "I contribute less than 100 euros. It ensures the minimum and for the rest if it happens, I pay, "says a retiree at the microphone of Europe 1. Playing the competition does not pay much: "I have already changed many times and it holds. Sometimes it benefits for glasses and other times for cures. It's the same," says Françoise.
Jean, for his part, has no choice but to grit his teeth: "When you have a small income, you have to be very careful and nibble on health. I'm 71 years old, I have terrible back pain, I put up with them as much as I can." Like Jean and Françoise, most retirees deplore these increases but are fatalistic.
