Nanning, September 9 (ZXS) -- Cong Liang, deputy director of China's National Development and Reform Commission, said in Nanning, Guangxi, on 17 September that China is willing to work hand in hand with ASEAN countries to build a more open, inclusive and resilient regional industrial chain and supply chain system, so that the results of cooperation will benefit the people of all countries.

The China-ASEAN Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum, hosted by China's National Development and Reform Commission and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was held in Nanning on the same day. The forum is one of the high-level forums of the 20th China-ASEAN Expo, with the theme of "Improving the Level of China-ASEAN Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Cooperation and Promoting the Mutually Beneficial and Win-Win Development of Regional Economy".

Cong Liang said in his speech at the forum that over the years, China and ASEAN have successfully embarked on a path of good-neighborliness, friendship and common development, the comprehensive strategic partnership has a good momentum of development, and all-round economic and trade pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results, which has effectively promoted regional peace, stability and prosperity. In order to promote greater regional economic development and progress, China and ASEAN should focus on building economic growth centers, promoting the deep integration of industrial chains and supply chains, improving the quality and efficiency of interconnection and cooperation, deepening innovation and cooperation in the digital economy, and seizing opportunities for the development of green economy.

Cong Liang said that China and ASEAN are ultra-large-scale markets with a population of more than 20 billion, with highly complementary industrial bases and resource endowments, and the in-depth integration and development of the two sides will provide strong support for the stability of the international industrial chain and supply chain. China and ASEAN should continue to promote the orderly development of industrial cooperation in the region, and consolidate and expand cooperation in traditional fields such as equipment, building materials, resources, electric power and agriculture. At the same time, smooth upstream and downstream supply chain channels to build more collaborative, efficient and competitive regional industrial clusters and supply chain systems.

As the world enters "digitalization, networking, and intelligence", the digital economy is becoming a new engine driving economic development. Cong Liang said that it is necessary to combine the new trends and needs of industrial transformation and upgrading and high-quality development in ASEAN countries to strengthen the strategic docking of digital economy development and promote the construction of digital infrastructure. Encourage enterprises to cooperate in e-commerce, smart cities, information services and other fields, increase the innovation of financial services for new formats and models such as cross-border e-commerce and digital trade, and promote the deepening of the "Digital Silk Road".

Cong Liang pointed out that China and ASEAN should jointly promote the green and low-carbon transformation of economic and social development, fully tap the potential of cooperation in emerging energy fields such as electric vehicles and photovoltaics, promote the implementation of more environment-friendly projects, and cultivate new green momentum for regional development.
