The First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs, Nadia Calviño, has assured this Friday that the Government will launch a program of aid to the media aimed at encouraging their digital transformation and strengthening their cybersecurity capabilities. In statements to the press, he has assured that it is an issue that is in a "premature" state to know the amount.

The first steps will consist of an expression of interest (a type of public consultation) that the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation will launch in the "coming days" so that companies in the sector present projects or give suggestions on fields in which they could invest these aids.

The first vice-president pointed out that the Government has identified that the media are one of the sectors that are benefiting less from European funds and aid for digitalization, hence the need to make a specific plan for the sector.

During the closing of the 37th Meeting of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications, organized by Ametic in Santander, the Vice President took stock of the implementation of the Digital Spain strategy and the deployment of European funds.
