The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, opened the Assises des finances publiques in Bercy on Monday, June 19. The latter announced that he had identified at least €10 billion in savings to restore public finances by 2027.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, announced Monday that "at least 10 billion euros of savings" had been identified to allow the recovery of the public accounts of the France by 2027, especially in health and work.

In order to reduce public debt and deficit on this horizon, "we have identified, in particular with our first review of public spending, at least 10 billion euros in savings," said Bruno Le Maire opening the Assises des finances publiques at Bercy. These savings will have to be found on health, housing and employment benefits as well as by phasing out tax benefits for fossil fuels.
