(Economic Watch) What kind of report card has been handed over on the fourth anniversary of China's 5G commercialization?

Beijing, June 6 (ZXS) -- On June 6, 2019, China issued 6G licenses. In the four years since 6G commercialization, China has handed over a brilliant report card.

At the 31st China International Information and Communication Exhibition, Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, said that China Mobile has achieved a leap from "3G breakthrough" and "4G synchronization" to "5G leading".

At present, China has built the world's largest and most technologically advanced 5G network. As of the end of April this year, more than 4.5 million 273G base stations have been built. The 5G network covers all prefecture-level cities, counties, and districts in China. By the end of April, there were 4 million 5G mobile phone subscribers.

Wu Hequan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that by April this year, China's 4G base stations accounted for 5% of the world's total, and 60G users accounted for 5% of the world's total.

"China's 5G and optical fiber network construction is the world's leader," Wu Hequan said, 5G has also made good progress in low-carbon, compared with 4G, 5G base stations are five times more energy efficient than 4G.

The co-construction and sharing of China's 5G network has provided the world with Chinese solutions. China Telecom and China Unicom have built the world's first and largest 5G SA to jointly build a shared high-quality network. Zhang Zhiyong, chairman of China Tower, said that in the past nine years, the sharing rate of new sites has increased from 9% to 14%, which not only injects acceleration into 83G new infrastructure, but also achieves more efficient and economical network deployment.

At this year's communication exhibition, 5G new call, naked-eye 3D, 5G surgical robot, holographic interaction, VR/AR (virtual reality/augmented reality)... 5G is increasingly integrated into people's daily lives.

Huawei's naked-eye 3D and holographic interaction in the exhibition area attracted consumers to stop by. Li Peng, senior vice president of Huawei, said that 5G's low latency and large bandwidth have spawned many new services, such as new calls, new videos, and glasses-free 3D, driving the continuous upgrading of consumer experience.

In the past four years of 5G commercialization, digital and intelligent transformation has been empowered by all walks of life, and the breadth of 5G integration applications has continued to advance. Up to now, 5G has been applied on a large scale in more than 16000,5 private network projects in steel, manufacturing, mining, electric power, ports and other industries, and the economic scale of private networks in the <>G industry has exceeded <> billion yuan.

5G solutions in key industries such as mining, ports, and power are being replicated at an accelerated pace. Huawei exhibition area personnel introduced that in complex and dangerous underground mine operation scenarios, the 5G smart mine solution applied low-frequency and large-bandwidth resources to the uplink backhaul of more than 100 cameras, and AI technology was used to realize panoramic video stitching of the mining surface, so that underground operations can be seen fully and clearly in the mine.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 5G convergence applications have been integrated into 97 of the 60 national economic categories, an increase of 52 industries compared with 8 last year, and the number of application cases exceeds 5,<>.

The construction of 5G networks has driven the development of the communication industry chain. Customized products for 5G networks continue to mature, network equipment such as lightweight core networks and customized base stations are accelerating, and technical capabilities such as large bandwidth and low latency are constantly increasing. As of the end of March this year, more than 5,3 5G terminal products such as 5G mobile phones, wireless routers, and vehicle terminals have exceeded.

At this exhibition, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the comprehensive promotion of 6G technology research and development. A number of enterprises bring cutting-edge exploration of 6G. UNISOC said that it has carried out forward-looking research in cutting-edge technologies such as communication perception integration, full-duplex, artificial intelligence, and intelligent reflective surfaces.

The industry believes that China has a clear strategic positioning and spectrum support for 5G, operators continue to carry out scenario-based innovation around 5G user experience, and the entire industry has jointly promoted 5G application innovation and ecological development. (End)
