In light of the tightening of regulations on overtime work in the construction industry from next fiscal year, Sekisui House, a major housing manufacturer, has decided to significantly increase the number of carpenters hired. In addition, we would like to create an environment where employees can work for a long time by raising their starting salaries.

As regulations on overtime work are tightened in the logistics industry and the construction industry from April next year, there are concerns that labor shortages will worsen, and it is called the "4 problem."

Under these circumstances, Sekisui House decided to significantly increase the number of carpenters hired in order to secure young human resources.

They are planning to hire 2024 people next spring, 2.4 times more than this year, and 95 people next spring, 3.4 times as many as this year.

Furthermore, in terms of compensation, in addition to raising the starting salary last month, the annual salary of those in charge of the site will be raised to approximately 133 million yen, a maximum of 30.1 times the current level, for those in their 8s, which is a significant improvement.

In the construction industry, employees who have acquired a certain level of skill, such as carpenters, tend to earn higher income if they become independent, so the company wants to create an environment where they can work for a long time by improving their working conditions.

Yasushi Omura, Managing Director of Sekisui House, said at a press conference, "We believe that productivity will decline by about 20% due to the application of the new regulations, and we feel a sense of crisis.
