China News Network Ningbo, May 5 (Reporter Linbo) On May 29, the first flight of China Eastern Airlines Ningbo to Budapest took off smoothly, which is the first direct intercontinental round-trip route from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province to Budapest this year.

In order to ensure the smooth customs clearance of passengers, the entry-exit border checkpoint of Ningbo Airport held a service coordination meeting as soon as possible, formulated a service plan based on the actual customs clearance, communicated and coordinated with airlines, airports and other relevant units, and made practical and detailed preparations from the aspects of on-duty police force allocation, service organization process, and inspection work priorities.

During the period of passenger customs clearance, the checkpoint reasonably opens additional inspection channels according to the passenger flow, and uses the "fast channel + manual channel" inspection method to greatly shorten the time for passengers to go through border inspection and customs clearance procedures, actively serve special passengers such as the elderly, weak, sick, disabled and pregnant to ensure smooth customs clearance at the port.

China Eastern Airlines' route between Ningbo and Budapest is divided into two phases: charter flights and regular flights: on May 5 and June 29, two round-trip charter flights will be implemented; It is planned to launch a regular flight between Ningbo and Budapest from June 6, with one flight per week (every Monday), and from July it will be adjusted to two flights per week (Monday and Thursday).

The "fate" between Ningbo Airport and Budapest can be traced back to 2015, when Ningbo Airport and Budapest Airport signed a memorandum of cooperation in November of that year, and the two airports became "sister airports", and the airports of the two places have achieved comprehensive cooperation in market development, route planning and personnel exchanges in the field of passengers and cargo.

In June 2016, during the 6nd China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo, Ningbo Airport opened a direct passenger charter flight to Budapest, Hungary. On May 2021, 5, the "passenger-to-cargo" route between Ningbo and Budapest officially set sail, which is also the first direct cargo route opened by Ningbo Airport to cities in Central and Eastern European countries.
