The Roland-Garros tournament starts this Sunday! A must for tennis enthusiasts as well as a boon for tourism. At this time of year, temperatures are pleasant and the capital has a lot to offer. So much so, that flight bookings to the capital are soaring.

Let's go for Roland-Garros! The 2023 edition opens on Sunday. Europe 1, official radio of the tournament, will make you live this international sporting event. An unmissable moment in Paris but also a boon for tourism. For the period from the end of May, beginning of June, which corresponds in particular to the dates of the Roland-Garros tournament, flight bookings to Paris increased by 17% more than last year on the Opodo platform.

Paris, a destination that blazes

For her part, Liligo observes a rebound in searches compared to the two weeks preceding the dates of the event. "There is a 2.3-fold increase in searches for Paris from late May to early June, compared to the two weeks before," says Kenza Jelloul, brand manager for the site. Beyond the sports tournament, this time of year always attracts many tourists to Paris, especially thanks to the summer temperatures and festivities. "We know that it is an event that attracts a lot of people, but overall, Paris is quite popular and very popular," she continues at the microphone of Europe 1.

But like other sectors, air flights are not immune to inflation. To go to Paris and attend Roland-Garros, for example, you will have to pay more than last year, at the same time. On the flight comparison site Kayak, prices are up 21%.
