The cardboard industry is booming and recruiting. This material, which is used for a wide range of food and cosmetic products, represents a more eco-responsible alternative to plastic packaging and is constantly looking for new recruits, especially in the most technical positions.

Cardboard is everywhere in our lives: online orders, pasta or fruit juice packaging... The cardboard paper sector is developing further and is recruiting at will, most of the time on permanent contracts. By 2030, 2,000 positions are to be filled each year, especially on the most technical ones such as machine operator, energy company or line operator printing machine.

Europe 1 visited a warehouse where this same material is made and where the ambient smell is that of the fresh ink that emanates from the printers. The thousands of stacked sheets of cardboard will be transformed into folding cases, especially for luxury perfumes, but not only. "Perfume, cosmetics and makeup. Also, in the world of spirits as behind you, it is a case for cognac", explains Frédéric Ansart, the commercial director of this group specializing in packaging.

According to the latter, orders exploded after Covid. Last year, 100 million cases for this alcohol left the site. "We have just lived two years quite inexplicable. In 2021 it seemed logical to us, 2022 it continued, "says Frédéric Ansart. And even a normalization of the activity would not prevent the company from recruiting, especially for technical tasks. "We need two more people," he announces.

To fill vacancies, the group looks closely at profiles coming out of schools, such as Thibault, who has been employed here for 20 years: "I went to engineering school in the paper and printing industry." Years of training required, although recruiters, just like the sales manager, do not stop there. A smiling and punctual candidate also has every chance. "We try to find people who respect their schedules, who say hello when they arrive," confirms Frédéric Ansart. As for age, the company welcomes young and old, as long as they are motivated.
