The Berlin tabloid »B.Z.« will soon no longer be published on Sundays. The Axel Springer publishing house justified this with the lack of profitability.

"In the consistent implementation of our digital-only strategy, we always evaluate our products for cost-effectiveness. Therefore, we have decided to discontinue the printed 'B.Z. am Sonntag'," said a spokesman for Springer.

The "B.Z. am Sonntag" will be published for the last time on July 30, he said. Previously, the Berlin »Tagesspiegel« had reported on the planned measure.

In addition to the homepage of the »B.Z.«, the weekday newspapers also continue to exist. » One thing is clear: The printed edition of the ›B.Z.‹ is not affected by this decision, it will continue to be published from Monday to Saturday," said the publisher's spokesman at the request of the dpa news agency. In the course of this measure, the Saturday edition of the ›B.Z.‹ will even be expanded by four pages in the future, thus offering our readers relevant articles and information for the entire weekend.«
