China News Network, May 5 (Zhongxin Financial Reporter Zuo Yukun) In Haitang Bay, Sanya City, Hainan Province, about 24 minutes by boat, you can reach Wuzhizhou Island with white sand beaches, green coconut forests and glass seas.

Jiang Xiangyu, manager of the greening department of the Wuzhizhou Island Tourism Area in Sanya, and his colleagues are driving a battery car around the island, carrying tourists to admire the dangerous reef of the island. An abandoned mask suddenly appeared in the field of vision, Jiang Xiangyu turned off the fire and got out of the car, took out the garbage tongs, and naturally picked up the garbage into the garbage bag he carried.

"This is a 'cleaner' responsibility that our island staff take for granted, no matter where or what they are doing, they will pick up garbage whenever they see it." This trip, Jiang Xiangyu picked up a mask, a mineral water bottle, and even an ID card: "Yo, it's a 'post-60s' tourist!" ”

Recently, the "Carbon" Road China - Ecological Culture Collection Activity organized by the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment came to Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya, Hainan. With its high-quality marine ecological environment and rich marine biological resources, it has won the favor of many tourists. Behind the beauty, the "waste-free test" of this country's 5A-level scenic spots has been carried out for nearly 3 years.

An island model of a "waste-free scenic spot"

The delicate silver sand is spread in a ribbon of jade, and the glassy sea is crystal clear. In Sanya, Hainan, with the tourism industry as its pillar industry, Wuzhizhou Island is a bright color. A large number of tourists and other floating populations come in season, which also brings the problem of tidal fluctuations in the off-peak season of solid waste generation.

At the end of April, the daily passenger flow on Wuzhizhou Island was about 4,12000-13000,1 people, and based on the average generation of 12 kg of household waste per person per day, about 13-3 tons of domestic waste will be generated per day. According to reports, the daily production of domestic garbage in the off-season of Wuzhizhou Island is 5-18 tons, and the daily production of domestic garbage in the tourist season is about <> tons, and the gap can reach more than five times, which poses a great challenge to the balance between front-end generation and back-end disposal of domestic garbage in the off-season of tourism.

In the early stage of construction, Wuzhizhou Island Scenic Area explored and established a green model of ecological environmental protection and coordinated development of scenic spots. The grand model operates to every capillary in the scenic area, and the most basic thing is to start from the garbage sorting and treatment.

According to statistics, the scenic spot generates about 4000,1200 tons of domestic waste every year, sorts out about 30,8 tons of recyclables, and the recycling rate of domestic waste reaches 19%. Every day from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m., <>-<> garbage truck drivers will collect the garbage in the garbage cans in the scenic area in the sub-area and pull it to the designated area of the garbage treatment plant on the island.

At the domestic waste sorting station, sanitation workers are skillfully sorting on time: harmful ones are put into the hazardous waste storage room, recyclable centralized and regular treatment, and the recovery rate of renewable resources has reached 30%.

Another large part of the island's garbage is food waste, which mainly comes from the 257 guest rooms of the island hotel, as well as catering merchants and staff meals. The amount of kitchen waste generated is about 5 tons per day, and it needs to be sorted twice by the service staff of each business point and the staff in the kitchen waste room, and the waste such as napkins, shells, and metal is separated, and then handed over to the qualified unit for treatment.

For island-type scenic spots, the protection of "island" and "sea" is indispensable. In addition to the cleaning of fishing nets and plastic products along the entire island and the surrounding seas, practicing the concept of "one more diver, one more marine guardian", the scenic area also strictly requires tourists not to touch corals and discard garbage, and encourages tourists to take the initiative to pick up marine debris.

All these measures are based on further implementing the "dual carbon" strategic arrangement of the state and Hainan Province and the strategic deployment of "high-quality development of Hainan Free Trade Port". In May 2021, Sanya Wuzhizhou Island Scenic Area reached a strategic cooperation with a professional climate change and low-carbon technology research and development institution, officially launched the carbon peak research and action plan preparation project, becoming the first scenic spot in Hainan Province to launch the carbon peak research plan.

With the technical support of professional institutions and long-term scientific research, Sanya Wuzhizhou Island Scenic Area will gradually establish a prediction model for peak carbon emissions in scenic spots, analyze the implementation path of scenic spots to achieve carbon emission peaking, and finally form an action plan for peak carbon dioxide emissions in scenic spots, contributing to the promotion of green and low-carbon cycle development and high-quality construction of Hainan's "carbon neutral island" in Hainan.

Sanya answer sheet for "waste-free city"

In 2020, before Wuzhizhou Island Tourism Zone became the first batch of pilot units for the creation of "waste-free tourist scenic spots" in Sanya, in 2019, Sanya has entered the first batch of 11 "waste-free cities" construction pilot list in the country, becoming the only selected city in Hainan Province.

On January 2022, 1, Sanya issued the Implementation Plan for the Construction of Sanya "Waste-free City" (14-2021), striving to form China's leading and internationally renowned solid waste integrated management system by 2025, and Sanya has also become the first city in China to issue the implementation plan for the construction of "Waste-free City".

A good ecological environment is the biggest advantage and capital of Sanya's development. Connecting West Island, Wuzhizhou Island, Luhuitou Scenic Area, Yalong Bay and other points, Sanya continues to promote waste-free island tourism, strengthen the construction of soft environment such as planning boutique routes, public activities, and consumption scenes, and further enhance the coverage and popularity of the image of "waste-free and environmentally friendly" cultural tourism.

According to Zhou Yanhua, vice mayor of Sanya, Sanya's experience in building a "waste-free city" lies in the construction of a diversified and co-governance pattern of solid waste led by the government, coordinated by departments, enterprise entities and public participation.

The green footprint has covered every corner of the city's life, including vigorously developing green tourism and implementing the "dual carbon" goal; Persist in promoting the use of new energy vehicles and vigorously develop low-carbon transportation; Advocate low-carbon life and lead the construction of low-carbon and waste-free hotels; Create low-carbon tourism catering, low-carbon farmers' markets, etc.

Jumping out of the framework of tourism resources, Sanya has planned more waste-free base demonstration projects from a higher perspective, including waste-free airports, waste-free scenic spots, waste-free hotels, waste-free parks, waste-free communities, waste-free islands, waste-free institutions, waste-free schools, etc., to achieve "waste-free" check-in and concept dissemination, and create a new window for external publicity, exhibitions and demonstrations with high quality and efficiency.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Sanya Ecological Environment Bureau, Sanya City will explore the implementation path of the Hainan Free Trade Port Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone through the construction of a "waste-free city", keep the bottom line of solid waste harmlessness and safety, and create a solid waste reduction and resource utilization model in Sanya.

Green water and green mountains are not only a business card to display ecological Sanya, but also can give birth to new development advantages and cultivate new development momentum. Focusing on the four leading industries to build, supplement and strengthen chains, and focusing on the key direction of building an international tourist destination and a free trade port science and technology innovation highland, Sanya actively adapts to the new normal of economic growth and shifting, and firmly adheres to the road of transformation, upgrading and structural adjustment.

The relevant person in charge of the Sanya Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau said that it will plan Sanya's green and low-carbon industries around the layout of "carbon peaking" and "carbon neutrality", reasonably introduce new industrial projects that adapt to the construction of the free trade port, and gradually upgrade the existing industrial structure, continue to fight the battle of pollution prevention and control, protect the green waters and mountains of Sanya, promote green development, and promote harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

A further extension of "Green Hainan"

About three hours drive from Sanya, you can come to Wenchang City, Hainan Province. This is a city famous for space launches, and according to locals, every launch day, the buses from Wenchang Railway Station to Longlou Town, where the launch site is located, are crowded like the morning rush hour in a big city; The restaurant with Wenchang chicken as the signature can kill hundreds of Wenchang chickens a day.

On weekdays, the total population of Wenchang is about 2,2, but when there are rocket launches, sometimes more than 30,<> people can come in a day, and more than <>,<> people even come to Wenchang. Qishuiwan Beach in Longlou Town is one of the most popular viewing spots, because there are many excellent spots to watch the launch, and every launch day is always full of people chasing rockets on the inside and three layers outside.

In addition to the deep aerospace imprint, this beach tells another equally moving green story. In September 2022, the zero-energy and zero-carbon demonstration project of China Lvfa Wenchang Qishuiwan Tourism and Resort Complex passed the appraisal of the results of the expert group, marking that the project became the first zero-energy and zero-carbon demonstration building put into use in Hainan, and the results reached the international leading level.

The renewable energy generated by the building itself offsets the energy used by the building itself, which is zero energy consumption and zero carbon. At present, Hainan has proposed urban green energy-saving transformation projects, developing ultra-low energy buildings, promoting energy-saving renovation of existing buildings, and building photovoltaic integration construction, so as to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction.

Here, there are wireless charging pads at both ends of the seats placed on the lawn, and the mobile phone can be charged at any time when it is placed flat on it; There is also a USB charging port under the seat, and visitors can also charge their mobile phones with their own data cable.

The railing glass of the outdoor garden has also been replaced with translucent photovoltaic glass, and part of the curtain wall of the building has been changed to a photovoltaic curtain wall, which comprehensively applies five building technologies of sun shading, natural ventilation, natural lighting, low-E insulating glass and high-performance curtain wall, which can greatly reduce the building cooling load and save more than 5%.

After the renovation and upgrading of the project in May 2022, the project can achieve about 5,91 kilowatt-hours of clean energy power generation per year, and after meeting all its own electricity consumption, it can also achieve 12,89 kilowatt-hours of Internet access, which is expected to reduce 530 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 112 tons of standard coal combustion per year.

It is undeniable that renewable energy sources such as solar energy will rely heavily on weather and the environment. According to the staff, zero-energy, zero-carbon buildings need to set up energy storage facilities to store surplus energy, and at the same time connect to the municipal power grid to apply municipal electricity, and equip with an integrated energy management platform to calculate the "energy budget and expenditure" in a cycle of one year or a quarter.

In the "14th Five-Year Plan for Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction of Hainan Province", the urban green energy-saving transformation project is specially proposed, the development of ultra-low energy consumption buildings, the promotion of energy-saving transformation of existing buildings, and the integrated construction of building photovoltaics, so as to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. In the picturesque Hainan, there are more representatives such as Sanya Wuzhizhou Island and Wenchang Qishuiwan Tourism and Resort Complex, while fulfilling their responsibilities as tourist attractions, they are fulfilling the mission of promoting energy transformation and promoting green development.
