According to him, the ruble continues to decline against the dollar and the euro in the absence of fundamental factors for strengthening.

"The demand for foreign currency is growing as imports increase," the expert explained.

He also noted that the depreciation of the ruble is becoming a tool for balancing the budget.

"Therefore, we should certainly expect a continuation of the trend when the ruble will weaken against the dollar and the euro. However, this does not negate the possibility of some strengthening of the national currency in the near future: the ruble may show a rebound, strengthening to 79-80 rubles per dollar and to 88-89 per euro. But after that, the fall will continue again, and we will certainly see another record - the dollar at 83-85 rubles, the euro - closer to 93 rubles per unit. This prospect is possible during the second quarter of this year or already in April," Deev concluded.

Earlier it became known that the euro rate at the auction of the Moscow Exchange rose to 90 rubles for the first time since April 14, 2022.

The dollar is growing to 82.16 rubles.
