The number of new vehicles sold in Japan in the past fiscal year was announced, and Honda's mini car "N-BOX" topped the list for the second consecutive year.
The growth in sales of EVs = electric vehicles is also remarkable.

According to the Federation of Japan Automobile Dealers Associations, an industry group, Honda's N-BOX mini vehicle sold the most last fiscal year with 20,4734 units, the top seller for the second consecutive year.

In second place is Toyota's Yaris with 2,2 units.

In third place was Toyota's Corolla with 17,5383 units.

As the global semiconductor shortage gradually recovers, eight of the top 3 models increased their sales compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, in terms of EVs, Nissan's Sakura topped the list with 3,3097 units, ranking 35th overall across all models.

In the previous fiscal year, Nissan's Leaf was ranked below 1th with more than 2000,50 units, so EV sales have also increased markedly.

Of the passenger cars sold last fiscal year, one in three mini vehicles and one in two standard cars were electrified vehicles, including hybrid vehicles.

According to industry associations, "Growing awareness of decarbonization is leading to increased sales."
