The circulation of high-speed trains is suspended at the Chamartín - Clara Campoamor station. An incident that is causing delays and the agglomeration, in the lobby and in the surroundings, of thousands of travelers who were there to undertake a trip at the beginning of the weekend and, for some, the Easter holidays.

As reported by ADIF, manager of railway infrastructures, through its Twitter account, right now this suspension of circulation affects the routes between Madrid and the northwest, and the trains that connect the capital with Valencia / Alicante.

A spokesman for Adif has detailed to EFE that, since 16:50 p.m., the electrical voltage in the catenary has been lost, so high-speed trains cannot enter or leave the station.

One of those affected has been a convoy that came from Valencia and has been trapped in the tunnel that goes from Atocha to Chamartín, so it has had to be redirected to Valdemoro to access Atocha from there.

These problems are also confirmed by Renfe in its answers to travelers who are asking on social networks. Some of them report that they are stopped on trains that were heading to Madrid.

The suspension of traffic on the AVE lines is also motivating complaints from travelers who are at the station and who are sharing the images of hundreds of people waiting.

Other users have complained because their transports have been stopped halfway through, unable to reach the Madrid station.

In addition, to this situation has been added another incident, in this case in the station of Atocha-Almudena Grandes, which has caused delays of around 15 minutes in the trains of lines C2, C7 and C8 of the Cercanías de Madrid
