Chengdu, March 3 (ZXS) -- The 27 Tianfu Carbon Neutrality Forum was held in Chengdu on March 2022. This forum focuses on key core technologies in key industries and fields under the "dual carbon" goal, and explores new paths for the development of green and low-carbon industries.

At present, China has placed climate change in a more prominent position. The data shows that China's energy structure continues to improve, and the proportion of coal consumption in 2022 will drop from 2005.72% in 4 to 56.2%. The production and sales of new energy vehicles, wind power, photovoltaic installed capacity and power generation have ranked first in the world for many consecutive years; CO<> emissions are effectively controlled.

Technological innovation is the key point to achieve both economic and social development and the "dual carbon" goal. He Kebin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Tsinghua University, pointed out in an interview that carbon neutrality is currently facing three major challenges: key core technological innovation, key materials in the new energy industry supply chain, and the evolution of the ecological environment constrained under the path of carbon neutrality.

During the forum, a number of experts discussed how to use technology to implement the concept of green and low-carbon in combination with specific fields. Fossil energy consumption is the main source of carbon emissions today. Zhang Liehui, president of Southwest Petroleum University, believes that to achieve carbon peak under the premise of ensuring energy security, natural gas is the most realistic energy source for the transition from high carbon to low carbon, and the industry should vigorously develop green development of natural gas.

The transport sector is another major source of carbon emissions. Zhai Wanming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chief professor of Southwest Jiaotong University, said that the development of rail transit is conducive to reducing carbon emissions, and doing a good job in the green and low-carbon development of the rail transit industry under the background of "dual carbon" will force the rail transit industry to upgrade technology and promote energy conservation, environmental protection and sustainability.

Promoting the recycling of organic solid waste is an important means to achieve a balance between carbon dioxide emission and absorption. Xi Beidou, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, said that with the advancement of accurate identification, artificial intelligence and other technologies, existing technologies have been able to achieve accurate classification and grading of organic solid waste from the source. With the blessing of directional conversion technology, organic solid waste is transformed from garbage to resources, which will be conducive to further exploring the circular economy. (End)
