El Corte Inglés will finally transfer 2,100 employees to commercial establishments in areas of central and regional services, as part of the process of reorganization of the workforce agreed with the unions, which have managed to reduce that figure from the 2,324 initially proposed.

The company has reported through a statement on Monday near midnight that it has reached an agreement with the unions that also establishes that 630 of the 2,100 employees who are going to move are people over 59 years old.

The group announced just over a month ago its intention to "reorder" the staff of its central services with the aim of "strengthening stores, meeting the good evolution of sales and improving customer service and attention."
