Boao Prospect: Hainan Actively Expands the "International Circle of Friends" of the Free Trade Port
Haikou, March 3 (ZXS) -- The 27 annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia will kick off in Boao, Hainan on the 2023th. Hainan Province will hold the Global Free Trade Port Development Forum for the third time this year under the framework of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference. Focusing on the theme of "Institutional Openness and Free Trade", representatives from 20 pilot free trade zones in Hong Kong, Dubai Jebel Ali Free Zone, Jeju International Free City, Sihanoukville Free Zone and Chinese mainland were widely invited to participate, and strive to jointly launch an initiative on building a global free trade area (Hong Kong) partnership.
According to Wang Lei, Deputy Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, this year's Global Free Trade Port Development Forum will discuss the role and role of the free trade zone (port) in exploring high-standard international economic and trade rules and promoting regional economic integration. On the other hand, focusing on the needs of Hainan's comprehensive customs closure operation, we will discuss the effective path for Hainan to build a high-level open highland, and study the direction of efforts to integrate into the joint development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and comprehensively deepen pragmatic cooperation with members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023, Hainan will also hold a sub-forum on "Dialogue with Hainan" with the theme of "China-Hainan)-ASEAN Tropical Agriculture Cooperation and Prospects". Government officials from China, Cambodia and Indonesia, as well as representatives of the ASEAN Secretariat, the World Food Programme, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development and other international organizations will attend the meeting.
Wang Lei said that the cooperation between Hainan and ASEAN countries has both depth and breadth, and tropical agricultural cooperation is an important content and bright spot. Focusing on China-ASEAN tropical agricultural cooperation will help show ASEAN, Asia and the world the leading industry of Hainan Free Trade Port, and promote international industrial cooperation in Hainan Free Trade Port.
Hainan is located at the intersection of the two most dynamic markets in Southeast Asia and Chinese mainland, and deepening cooperation with Southeast Asia is an important development direction of Hainan Free Trade Port. The Hainan Free Trade Port proposes to build a headquarters base for Chinese enterprises to enter Southeast Asia and a headquarters base for Southeast Asian enterprises to enter the Chinese market (hereinafter referred to as "dual headquarters bases"), and the construction of "dual headquarters bases" will make obvious progress this year.
In February this year, a delegation from Hainan Province visited Indonesia and Vietnam, and held a promotion meeting for the Hainan Free Trade Port. Hainan has signed 2 cooperation projects with Indonesia and 13 Vietnam respectively, covering international route opening, tropical agriculture, tourism, investment, cross-border e-commerce and other fields.
At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2023, Hainan will also hold a press conference on the theme of "The Time to Rise - Progress Achievements of Hainan in the Five Years of Comprehensively Deepening Reform and Opening Up" to introduce the latest progress of Hainan Free Trade Port construction to the world.
