From January to February, China's power battery production continued to maintain steady growth

The reporter recently learned the latest information from the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance: In the first two months of this year, China's power battery production continued to maintain steady growth, of which in February, the installed volume of new energy vehicle power batteries maintained a high year-on-year growth.

The latest data show that from January to February, the cumulative output of China's power batteries was 1.2 GWh, a cumulative increase of 69.6% year-on-year. Among them, in February, the installed volume of new energy vehicle power batteries was 13.3 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 2.21%.

The reporter learned that at present, China's new energy batteries are mainly lithium batteries, focusing on the three major application fields of consumption, power and energy storage, of which power batteries account for more than 70%. The data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently shows that in 2022, the total annual output value of lithium batteries in China will exceed one trillion yuan for the first time, exceeding 1.2 trillion yuan.

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that for the entire lithium battery industry, with the realization of China's carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, lithium batteries will play a key node supporting role in the process of green transformation, and the lithium battery industry will usher in a period of rapid growth.

Driven by innovation, China's lithium battery industry leads the world

China's lithium battery industry has not only ushered in a period of rapid growth, but also led the global market.

CATL, located in Fujian, is the world's largest lithium battery manufacturer, and the information released recently shows that the global power battery usage market share of CATL in 2022 will be 37.0%, an increase of 4 percentage points over the same period of the previous year, ranking first in the world for six consecutive years.

Walking into the Ningde era battery production base located in Ningde Jiaocheng District, Fujian, the reporter saw that the production here is being stepped up is the third-generation battery that is on the mass market. Different from the previous generation of batteries, that is, the second generation of batteries, the advantage of this generation of batteries is to improve the energy density ratio of the battery by optimizing the space layout.

Lithium battery energy storage: application scenarios accelerate integration into production and life

Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" goal, China is developing rapidly in the field of new energy storage, which is inseparable from lithium batteries.

The field of lithium battery energy storage has also accelerated the landing of application scenarios and ushered in a window period of growth.

Recently, in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, a number of new energy vehicle battery swap stations were officially put into use. Such a swap station can accommodate up to 48 standardized-sized battery-swapping batteries that look like "chocolate", and it only takes 3 minutes for new energy vehicles to replace a set of two power batteries, thus obtaining a cruising range of 400 kilometers.

In addition to power exchange, lithium battery energy storage technology is also used in the field of photovoltaic energy storage charging. In the central urban areas of Fuzhou, Ningde and other places in Fujian, a number of intelligent fast charging stations that have introduced "new energy + energy storage" technology have also recently been put into use. Solar energy is collected and stored by installing photovoltaic panels and large-scale lithium-ion energy storage equipment.

Relying on 210.280 million sites, China Tower has deployed 5,7 grid swap points in more than 90 cities across the country, providing more than 200 million power exchange services for <>,<> takeaway riders and express brothers every day.

In Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, the key technology and engineering application of MWh-level solid-state lithium-ion battery energy storage developed by Three Gorges Group is undergoing debugging work before grid connection, and this project has realized the world's first demonstration application of energy-storage solid-state lithium-ion battery, and the service life of solid-state ion battery in the demonstration project can reach more than 6000,2022 times. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in 100, China's energy storage lithium battery production will exceed <> GWh.

Yang Xudong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Electronic Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Last year, China's lithium battery energy storage lithium battery cumulative installed capacity growth rate exceeded 130%, energy storage field is an important link to realize our green power from power generation to application, in the future we think there will be a great development in this field.

Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Promote the high-quality development of new energy batteries in many aspects

The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that in the next step, China will promote the high-quality development of the new battery industry from many aspects.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that while accelerating the development of the lithium battery industry, it will also promote the high-quality development of new batteries and key material industries such as sodium electricity, hydrogen fuel cells, flow batteries, and supercapacitors. At the same time, in terms of technological innovation, accelerate the integration and innovation of new batteries and solar photovoltaics, key information technology, and key terminal applications, and promote the development of new batteries towards high safety, high energy density, long life and low cost. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will also release a new version of the "Comprehensive Standardization Technical System for Lithium-ion Batteries" to accelerate the construction of a full-life cycle traceability management system for lithium batteries and promote the level of recycling in the industry.

Yang Xudong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Electronic Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: We must further implement the work on the coordinated and stable development of the lithium battery industry, the industrial chain and the supply chain, promote the effective docking of supply and demand, and enhance the resilience of the industrial chain and supply chain.
