According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first half of 2022, the epidemic had a huge impact on the automotive industry chain and supply chain, the state timely introduced a stable growth policy, and local governments also promoted automobile consumption according to local conditions, so that the automotive industry gradually returned to normal operation, and played a positive role in stabilizing growth and promoting consumption. In the fourth quarter of last year, the pace of automobile production and sales was once again seriously affected. Entering 2023, the overall sales of the automotive industry fell significantly from January to February, the terminal inventory of enterprises rose sharply, the operating pressure increased, and enterprises took various measures to reduce inventory. Local governments, including Hubei Province, have jointly launched a large-scale pro-consumption policy with enterprises to stimulate local automobile consumption and alleviate difficulties for enterprises.

According to the analysis of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the reasons for this round of short-term promotion are many, and the preferential models launched by various enterprises are mostly long-term warehouse, old models or slow-selling inventory models. In the terminal market, these models have had considerable preferential prices before this round of promotion, and terminal publicity in order to attract attention, exaggerate the intensity of price reduction, increase customer acquisition, and easily mislead consumers.

Looking forward to 2023, the production and sales of new energy vehicles are expected to reach 900 million units, continuing to maintain a rapid growth rate.
