China is the world's largest manufacturer of bags, data shows that China's production of bags has accounted for nearly 40% of the global market share. With the return of overseas merchants, China's luggage exports have shown a sustained recovery trend this year.

In the past few days, the production line of a luggage enterprise in Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, is running at full speed to catch up with a new batch of orders placed by European customers - 5,<> luggage. Outside the warehouse, workers are busy moving the products that have just come off the production line onto container trucks, and then these containers will be sent to Europe, North America, Japan and other countries and regions through Shanghai Yangshan Port or Ningbo Zhoushan Port.

Luo Fuwang, director of the manufacturing center of a luggage enterprise in Jiaxing, Zhejiang: From January to February, we exported a total of 1.2 million US dollars, an increase of about 807% year-on-year. At present, orders are also relatively saturated, with about 67 containers shipped per day, and up to 20 containers can be shipped during peak periods.

The popularity of orders stems from the return of overseas customers. Since the end of last year, this company has made a special trip to Europe to visit old customers, continuously participated in professional luggage exhibitions such as Offenbach in Germany and Las Vegas in the United States, and won more than 500 million US dollars in intentional orders in one go. In Yiwu, the "capital of small commodities", more and more overseas buyers return here to place orders, which has also driven the luggage business.

According to the statistics of Yiwu Mall Group, since the opening of the market in the Year of the Rabbit, more than 17,5 foreign businessmen have entered Yiwu International Trade City every day to purchase, an increase of 26.9% over the same period last year. Data show that in the first two months of this year, Yiwu's luggage exports reached 26.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of <>.<>%.

Bao Jianling, operator of Zhejiang Yiwu International Trade City: In the first month after the Spring Festival last year, our turnover was 260.20 million yuan. This year, it has increased by 30%-300%, more than <> million yuan.

Zhejiang Yiwu: Shipping prices fall back to benefit exports Luggage companies are busy expanding production

Since the second half of last year, the price of container shipping has been falling, and the current price of a container exported to Europe and the United States West route, respectively, from the highest point of more than 9000,15000 US dollars, 1000,1500 US dollars, to the current <>,<> US dollars and <> US dollars, international logistics costs are reduced, which provides benefits for luggage export enterprises.

Su Yanlin, an operator of Zhejiang Yiwu International Trade City, said that trolley boxes are space-occupying commodities, so shipping prices have a great impact on exports. A container can hold five or six thousand semi-finished products, which is 2-3 times the freight volume of finished products. However, after the goods arrive abroad, customers also have to rent warehouses, hire workers, and assemble semi-finished products into finished products, which is not a small expense. Profits have been compressed, and many overseas customers have reduced their purchases, resulting in the direct loss of some small orders. But now, with the price of sea freight falling to about one-tenth of the high, the business of many luggage companies has heated up.

A trolley box manufacturer with a construction area of more than 4000,<> square meters can produce more than <>,<> trolley boxes per day, but the progress is still too slow for the company.

Zhang Yongli, head of a luggage manufacturer in Yiwu, Zhejiang: Compared with last year, our orders increased by 15%-20%.

The person in charge told reporters that since the price of sea freight has fallen, the luggage business has continued to pick up. Optimistic about this year's market, they have spent tens of millions of yuan to buy three brand new production lines. At present, the production line is entering the commissioning stage, and it is expected to be officially put into use in May this year.

Zhang Yongli, head of a luggage production enterprise in Yiwu, Zhejiang: We are now ordering until July, the production cycle is relatively long, and customers need to wait three to four months. So we have to put in a new production line and shorten the production cycle to 45 days.

Jiaxing, Zhejiang: From OEM to self-built brand Luggage enterprises promote growth through multiple channels

Despite the recovery of business, the international trade environment has become increasingly complex and changeable, in order to improve industrial added value, in Pinghu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, many luggage companies have begun to seek transformation.

In the production workshop of a luggage company, the reporter saw a large inkjet printer drawing cartoon patterns for a bag. Over the years, the company has won more than ten well-known IPs to create co-branded bags. These products have sold well in Europe, America, Japan, Southeast Asia and other markets, helping this luggage company's products to successfully stand in the mid-end market of more than $100 and the high-end market of more than $200.

The reporter learned that Zhejiang Jiaxing Pinghu currently has more than 40 luggage enterprises above designated size, in the past, these enterprises mainly did OEM for foreign brands, and the added value of products was not high. At present, local luggage companies are constantly improving their competitiveness through overseas acquisitions and self-built brands.

Chen Wanglun, general manager of a luggage enterprise in Zhejiang: From the sales side, we now have our own brands and OEM processing, with their own brands accounting for 40%, and it is predicted that their own brands should exceed 50% in the future.

At present, the luggage company launches more than 700 new products every year, and the gross profit of a single suitcase has increased from 5% to 20% to 30% today. At the same time, many luggage companies are also making efforts to expand sales channels, not only "opening stores globally" on cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Wal-Mart and Amazon, but also establishing overseas warehouses in Europe and North America.

Yu Xinfang, director of Pinghu Factory, a luggage enterprise in Zhejiang: In order to meet the needs of cross-border e-commerce customers for small batches and personalized customization, our factory has launched the "unlimited minimum order" mode, and we can also accept orders for several or a dozen boxes. To this end, we have created a flexible production line that changes from one product to another, with the adjustment time of the intermediate line taking only half an hour. (CCTV Finance)
