Toppan Printing will start selling a new translation system for counters in 15 languages, including English and Chinese, from June.

When you have a face-to-face conversation across a transparent display, the system automatically translates the exchange between the Japanese and the foreign language and displays it in text on the display.

Since you can see the other person's facial expressions and gestures, it is characterized by natural interaction, and it is expected to be in demand at tourist information centers visited by many foreign tourists.

Tomoshin Nosaka, who was in charge of the development, said, "In the after-corona era, we want to increase the number of windows where foreign tourists who visit Japan do not have a hard time with words."

In addition, the company that produces the taxi dispatch app "GO" partnered with a Chinese company last month to make it possible for travelers from China to hail Japan taxis with the local ride-hailing app that they use on a daily basis.

We have already partnered with companies in Southeast Asia and South Korea, and we plan to continue to increase the number of overseas ride-hailing apps that can be used in Japan.
